A Formal Introduction of Sorts

After posting my first  post I realized that I didn't give much of an introduction to myself and as I hope to reach more people than just my friends and family I figured I should do a little more.

My name is Nicole, I am currently 24 years old. I have a pretty great family and boyfriend; I hope to sew lots of cute and amazing things for all the people I love!

I just graduated with a Social Work degree and I'm currently on the look for an actual "adult" job. I don't really come from a crafty family and can really only remember the sewing machine in our house being used sporadically for a few quilting projects or costumes.  In fact; sewing has been so devoid from my life I thought my grandmother might slap me when I asked for help sewing a button a few months back--so needless to say sewing's pretty new to me!

This is, unfortunately NOT me!

I'm not really the domestic, responsible sort at all so sewing has struck me as a kind of odd new passion--but so far I'm loving it a lot!

The reason I started sewing is in my earlier post here, but I want to know a bit more about you! What inspired you to sew?  Did you grow up in a sewing family?
